To celebrate my computer being back to work - I changed the look of my blog. I don't know if I like it yet. I am a very plain Jane when it comes to things like this. I was okay with the Minima template I was working with but I have let my daughter influence me. I have a very talented niece (Ashley) and she has a very talented husband - they make movies, take pictures and now Ashley has been putting together new blog templates for people to download for free. My daughter convinced me to do it and I did.
Speaking of my daughters, two of them have started to blog. C actually has two blogs, one that she created for herself and then her good friend wanted to do one too so they created another one to do together. M also decided to make one. I am linking them here but I will not be responsible for what you read on their blogs. I'm just their Mom - that doesn't mean I have to be accountable for what they put out in cyberspace do I? I just got my computer back and now they are going to want to be on here posting to their blogs. This might be a bad idea.
And speaking of my computer being fixed. I was waiting for my super computer savvy brother to come over and do it for me, but he wasn't going to be able to come until Monday. Yesterday, my dearest husband thought he would give it a whirl. He opened one of the side panels of the tower and saw that it was covered in dust - he vacuumed it all out and used one of those compressed air cans to blow out what he couldn't vacuum. Then, it started working fine. I am so disgusted that the only thing that was keeping my computer from working was filth that got in there from my own house! But I am so glad he thought of that.
My dearest husband has been quite the renaissance man lately with his computer fixing and automobile mechanics. His day job is very much an office job with little to no manual labor or hand dirtying of any kind. A few weeks ago when our very trusted mechanic told us that our suburban was in need of about $1500 worth of repairs, Alan took matters in to his own hands. Our mechanic told him what to do and how to do it and he did it. He fixed everything for about $400 and one day off of work.
I wore my new dress to church today (25 lbs lost reward) and I kind of felt like a Sunday celebrity. I got so many compliments on my dress and hair that it started to have the opposite effect. I seriously started to wonder if I have looked bad all of my previous Sundays in this ward. I taught my lesson today as well. I was glad I was wearing my awesome shoes because I know people were looking at them under the table - I am hoping that some were distracted by their awesomeness and totally unaware that I was feeling inadequate up there teaching.
The lesson was on the Mission of John the Baptist. It was kind of a deep lesson involving the legal authority to establish the Kingdom of God and what the Kingdom of God actually is. It also taught about the Spirit of Elias and who has that spirit. I got it - I just don't know if I was able to teach it well. I was able to share my testimony of the blessings of the Aaronic priesthood. Something we don't really talk about much when we speak of the blessings of the priesthood. I'm glad I have an Aaronic priesthood holder in my home. Speaking of that - I love this post written by a Deacon.
I have so much to do this week to get ready to go to Women's conference. I want to continue going to the gym every day - that has been a real blessing for me. I am sad to report that after my first full week of working out like a dirty dog I gained one pound. Everyone has reassured me that it is normal as muscle weighs more than fat etc... I was a little put out by it - but not too worried. I can already feel the effects of this gym thing. I feel great - even when my muscles are sore and I feel like my heart is going to pound right out of my chest - I feel great.
I have missed you my blogging friends - it is good to be back.

Yay - your back! I love the new look! Very cute - your niece has a cute website.
I am feeling the rush of the WC - I just cleaned for a big party on Saturday - but the guestroom and the junks is inhabitable - so I need to get going on that so everyone will have a place to sleep!
I am proud of your dedication to the gym - I promise it is your new muscles weighing in heavy - you will be losing a bunch this week I bet. My trainer always told me that when you have sore muscles it's good because you are actually burning fat every time you ache - not sure if that's true - but it made me feel better when I couldn't bend over to tie my shoe - hehe.
your blog is lookin good! Glad you have been able to save money and have a handy hubby! I think you look great all the time. I know how you feel though. One Sunday we had family pics before church and I had Deana do my hair and I recieved SO many compliments, I enjoyed them while they lasted?? I told Deana I could get used to her doing my hair every Sunday. :)
Way cute blog!!! I tried to change mine but it told me I did something wrong so it wouldn't work. I will have to try again though because your blog looks so famous.
I always thought you looked so fancy on Sundays with your way cute shoes and fancy hair. Did you feel like a movie star in your new dress with everyone wanting to talk to you?
