How do you let people know you blog?
I have had this blog for a couple of months now. However, very few people know about it. I have been loathe to tell people for some reason. I guess I don't want anyone to think that I think that what I have to say is so great that others really need to read it. Especially when I read some of the incredible blogs out there. There are people who have very important things to say out there. And here I am sharing recipes and family pictures. I told my close friends and that is it - until today. I told my mother-in-law about it today (Hi DeAnn!) but I felt kind of weird doing it. I told Alan about it but I am pretty sure that he has never visited. If anyone is reading this - how did you get the word out that you have a blog? Just wondering....

I haven't told too many people about my blog - the only ones who know about it is my sis - and the DL's. The big reason I haven't told many about it - is because I don't want to be judged, You know I put some crazy things in there. Do I really want the acquaintances to know how irreverant/crazy/silly I am? Because let's be honest - to know me is to love me heehee.
If you want to get the word out about your blog a) send out an email to your near and dears b)announce it in the ward newsletter or c)spam every list you can find hehe.

You can just do what I do and steal people off of other people's blogs, that's been fun. I just find blogs that I like, or people that I know and leave comments. Sometimes if I post about something that a specific person I know might be interested in, I E mail them with my blog info and tell them to check it out. All I post about is my life and my family, boring to most people probably, but when you have a large extended family it's a nice way to stay in touch and keep everone updated. So glad you found me!
I emailed a link to my favorite people, but for the life of me, I can't get any of my four brothers and four sisters, parents, or darin's family to read or comment.
I think only those who actually have a blog will check one regularly.
for those that do read, and I read theirs, I feel a better connection to, and since I am 900 miles away from mostly every family member on both sides and all my closest friends, connection is important.
That is why I do it, to keep a cool photo journal (which I print out and bind at the end of the year), and to stay connected with far away loved ones. Since they don't bother to read, it's just fun to visit with and get to know friends better by sharing our lives in glimpses.
Oh, one more thing! I have found several friends by seeing their comments on mutual friends' blogs. You can click someone's name and it takes you to their profile and you can scroll down for a link to their blog.
Just start leaving comments in several places, and they can find you that way. (That is how I found you and several other ward people).
