I was recently reminded that I love Buttermilk Syrup!! I hate when you forget about something that is so good and so easy to make! This syrup is so delicious - it has a "caramely" taste but it is not too sweet. Obviously - with all of the butter - it is also NOT low-fat; BUT it is so worth it for a special weekend breakfast. It is especially delicious over oatmeal pancakes or apple pancakes - but my personal favorite is French toast or even better - French toast casserole!!
Buttermilk Syrup
ingredients:
1 stick of butter
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
directions:
Cook butter, sugar and buttermilk over medium heat until it comes to a boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla and baking soda.
How easy is that??

That looks soo good! I have all the ingredients except the buttermilk. I guess that's kind of a crucial ingredient.
It really does look easy - I will have to try it sometime. Does it make enough for your family?
